David Merk

Born in New Hampshire, David Merk was raised in rural Nova Scotia and studied engineering in Halifax. In the late 80’s, he ran away from home, landed in Montreal and fell in love with the Plateau where he still lives. He has been working for many years as a glass engraver with artist Denis Gagnon as well as co-founding a Celtic stone carving crafts business. Now Merk is an independent commercial glass and stone engraver. For the last five years he has been focusing on creating a more personal body of work.
